404 bowls with 101 people in Stoke-onTrent. Pamela Wells will work with each participant to designing a set of 4 bowls. These designs will be based on drawings and photos from the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery's historical collection of Staffordshire tableware. Pamela will make and decorate the bowls (white clay, wheel thrown, decorated with underglazes and ceramic pencils).

Together, the bowls will create an enormous, fragmented and quilt-like "painting" displayed at the New Vic Theatre, Newcastle-under-Lyme. After the exhibition, bowls will be returned to participants who will be asked to host a meal with 3 other people. The bowls are to be used during the meal, after which participants and their guests each keep one bowl.
